Getting reading for Halloween --

I think Halloween is on the top 3 of my favorite holidays (other 2 being Christmas and Chinese New Year) --

Last year, our Halloween decorations were a bit rushed and only stayed up for 3 days --

This year, we've been planning our Halloween decor for more than a month and we've been slowly getting things ready.

And the kids have been helping out.

We've been painting glass jars orange and we've purchased LED tealights to put inside.  We plan to scatter them around the garden -- but we aren't done yet.  I think I need to put a 3rd coat of orange acrylic on the jars.

I asked Johann to make a silhouette of a haunted house to put on our big accent window -- the kids thought it looked fun so I gave them their own sheets of black cartolina and they doodled on them as well.

I really enjoyed watching Seth work -- he was even telling the story of his spooky castle.

I was happy with how Johann's haunted house turned out -- he had the extra challenge of having to increase the scale to fit 2 sheets of cartolina.

Don't you just love the shadow it makes? ^_^
This is Seth's -- when he saw me cutting out his Papa's drawing, he insisted that I cut his next.  (I think Seth's actually looks more spooky and more Halloween-ish.)

Our problem was where to put it --

Would fit right into a Tim Burton movie? ^_^

We stuck it to the wall of our main entry -- I also bought spider web decorations and the counter looks really nice.  (Will take picture later and post it here.)

As for the trick or treating itself -- I'm half tempted not to give out candies this year -- maybe stickers? Or erasers?
