Yes, this conversation really happened --

One evening, before bedtime, Seth surprised me when he announced: "I want to rinate."

At first, I didn't understand what he said because he said it so quickly -- but I quickly figured it out when he rushed off the bed and ran to the bathroom.

Inside the bathroom afterwards, while washing his hands, I ask him to repeat what he said.

So he slowly says, "I want to rinate."

I quickly correct him, "Seth, say urinate." (I emphasize the "yuuuu" bit.)

He blinks at me and says, "I rinate."

"No, you say 'urinate'"

The exasperated little boy eventually just said, "I made wee-wee."
